Free Screen Video Recorder is a program capable of taking snapshots and recording videos from your screen.
It is especially useful for people who need to include samples of a computer’s screen activity (as SI’s reviewers ;-)) or instructors who need to show somebody how to use a program, or to perform a certain task when visiting a website. You can use it to record your chat activity, or to take a screenshot of your highest score in a computer’s game.
This free utility can save snapshots of your entire screen, a section of it, the active window, or just an object. Once done, the program will open its built-in image editor, which you can use to rotate, flip, crop or resize the snapshot. Then, you can save it "as is" - in the default BMP format - or in the JPG, GIF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF or TGA formats.
The video recorder will allow you to record videos with the activity displayed on the full screen, on a window or just in a specific area of the screen. The program will produce a video file that will show all the activity that took place in the selected area (even of videos playing at the time of recording), but without sound.
Free Screen Video Recorder’s installer will put in your system the DVDVideoSoft Free Studio Manager, a shell that will grant you access to this program and to the other 24 free programs that available from the author’s site. If you chose not to install a given program, you can still visit its website just by clicking on it.
It is a free application with basic options to record your screen activities.
